If you find yourself in need of immediate help, call Emergency Services – 911.

These are examples of situations that you should seek immediate help:

  • Thinking about ending your life or trying to end your life.
  • Feeling scared because you’re experiencing sensations that aren’t real and/or beliefs that can’t possibly be true.
  • Becoming unable to care for yourself, and it’s putting you at risk of serious harm.
  • Experiencing an alcohol or any other drug overdose.
  • Taking a dangerous combination of substances (like medications and alcohol).

You can also

  • Call or text 9-8-8 to have access to 24/7 bilingual, trauma-informed, and culturally appropriate suicide prevention support.
  • call the crisis line at 1-800-784-2433
  • SMS/Text Kids Help Phone by texting CONNECT to 686868, if you would like to stop the conversation text STOP

VictimLinkBC 24/7 PHONE AND VIDEO CHAT
VictimLinkBC provides information and referral services to all victims of crime and immediate crisis support to victims of family and sexual violence.

VictimLinkBC is a toll-free, confidential, multilingual service available across B.C. and the Yukon 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and can be accessed by calling or texting 1-800-563-0808 or sending an email to VictimLinkBC@bc211.ca.

Kids Help Phone 24/7 PHONE AND TEXT
Toll-free, 24-hour phone, counselling and referral service for young people.

Kids Help Phone (1-800-668-6868) has toll-free, 24-hour phone, counselling and referral service for young people. You can also connect by texting CONNECT to 686868, and chat confidentially with a trained, volunteer Crisis Responder for support with any issue. If you would like to stop the conversation text STOP. 

Phone, text message and messaging over Facebook Messenger are available 24/7 so you can connect whenever and however you want. It's safe, private and non-judgmental.

BC's Crisis Line 1-800-SUICIDE (784-2433) provides direct support if you, or someone you know is having thoughts of suicide. Services also include phone outreach and follow up support. The phone line is available in over 140 languages using a language service.

 

KUU-US Crisis Line 24/7 PHONE
Support for Indigenous youth in BC.

The KUU-US Crisis Line Society provides a First Nations and Indigenous specific crisis line available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, toll-free from anywhere in British Columbia.

KUU-US Crisis Line can be reached toll-free at 1-800-588-8717. Alternatively, individuals can call direct into the Youth Line at 250-723-2040.

Topics the KUU-US Crisis Line can support individuals with include, but are not limited to, mental health issues and crisis related to residential school, child welfare, addiction, health concerns, divorce and separation, suicide ideation and survivorship, grief and loss, crime, abuse, peer pressure and financial distress.​

WAVAW can connect you with services like counselling, hospital accompaniment, and police and court accompaniment.

WAVAW provides immediate crisis and long-term support services to survivors of sexual assault. If you are in need of immediate crisis assistance, call 604-255-6344 in the Lower Mainland or call our national toll-free line at 1-877-392-7583. Support includes:

  • 24-hour crisis and information line
  • Hospital accompaniment
  • Support navigating the medical and legal system
  • One-to-one counselling and support groups
  • Counselling for Indigenous survivors and the friends and family of Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women, Girls, and Two-Spirit people
